Survivor: The Tribe Has Spoken

Took this game to play at a local brewery with a couple of friends. None of us super fans of survivor but we all had seen a season or two not that that really mattered since the game play was straightforward and easy to understand accept for one card type which assumed you had knowledge of what type of card was important to steal-the idol. We all thought this was a great game and were still talking about long after the game was over. Some comments that the group had on how to improve it. 1. More tribal councils! We were only 4 people playing so the large playing deck meant long turns before each tribal council. The Tribal Council was definitely the most fun. However the one time we had quick succession in tribal councils we didn’t have enough to talk about as far as who to vote off the island. 2. There seemed to be access in what I would call ‘nope’ (explody kitten reference) cards but most players weren’t playing them fast enough so I’m sure on round two of playing this might not be a problem. 3. Finally, and this isn’t a criticism, being the tribal leader didn’t initially appear to be an advantage but found later that being the tie breaking vote was crucial. All in all, I think this game captured the full essence of survivor and I can’t wait to play again, make more alliances and convince my friends that I should be the sole survivor…again:)

This game is an absolute blast and has all the fun social deception and manipulation as the show! No need to be a fan, if you like games like secret hitler or one night werewolf, then you'll love this game.

Giving 4 stars for now until an expansion releases, but definitely needs some sort of immunity challenge. The tribal councils need to have immunity challenges attached because that paints a target on people who win early and is a huge part of the voting dynamics in the show!
